Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from the room, the lounge, the restaurant and the outdoor seating areas overlooking the lake. Overall a breathtaking area with the hotel complimenting the area incredibly well. Spa treatments to top off the weekend away. Couldn’t recommend enough. "

"A lovely comfortable room, with amazing views. It can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper. Convenient location in the middle of Ambleside, close to Windermere. Bar is very nice with a decent range of drinks. I'd happily stay here again. "

"Always love staying at the Belsfield. So many good walks from the hotel including Brant Fell and the Dalesway, fery across the lake and walk to Wray castle. Plenty of good places to eat and drink nearby, views from hotel are amazing and the staff are always so welcoming. "

"This is such a special place, historic, scenic,homely,warm and welcoming. The garden suite was outstanding and the food quality excellent. The only thing I could possibly complain about was the Guiness as sad as that is. It frustrates me incredibly when I order a branded draught beverage and it comes in a different branded glass. The Guiness was poured in one go whereas the connoisseurs of the black beauty recognise and appreciate it’s a slow patient process leaving mid way to stand for a while. I did not like to inform the extremely pleasant and obliging Italian barman in the error of his ways. Apart from that minor misdemeanor we can’t wait until we return. "
