"Perfect place to switch off. The food was excellent, not a huge menu to choose from but there was something for everyone. Prices seemed high at first glance, but I can assure you that you definitely get what you pay for. really good. The homemade sourdough bread!!!! amazing, would return just for that. (honestly it is something else) The staff really make this place wonderful. Very attentive and friendly. The room was really nice, really clean and comfortable. The SPA, this was really wonderful, the treatments were exceptional, and the facilities were amazing. Location was great, we walked into Ambleside on the opposite side of the lake and caught the bus back (559) to the hotel after some shopping and a shandy. "

"It was a lovely hotel, with friendly staff. The room was beautiful, a little noisy from the room above on the first night of our stay (which kept our little boy awake). However this did not affect how much we loved this hotel. The food and atmosphere was amazing. Not to mention the brilliant location. We would have loved the tipi to have been up so will definitely return once that is in place. We stayed in the Loughrigg suite - A great small addition would be some coat hangers behind the door upon entry to hang outdoor coats but everything else was perfect. "
