"Absolutely stunning property and surroundings! House and rooms are nice and clean but public spaces felt small for the 7 rooms (14 people). It is nice if you are happy to socialize and share space. Staff was amazing and accommodating - food was good, not amazing - a little hit or miss. We didn’t have the full board / all inclusive like others and I felt like the prices were high for Sri Lanka. "We had booked and paid for two rooms as a family travelling with mum dad and two teenage kids (age 18 & 16). On arrival around 5 pm we had to wait 30 minutes and were then told there was only one room available as a guest had decided to stay longer. "I adored my stay here.. I felt cared for, safe and pampered. They have a no alcohol policy/ but provide delicious tea.. so though I’m in Bali right now, I want to stick to the healthy few days I had at Anasa. The spa was magnificent.. Nathan provided hands down the best massage I’ve ever had in my life. Definitely recommend staying here! I know I will again sometime soon"

Simple and restful lodge!

"A simple lodge with awesome views! I was gently greeted by the rising sun. No Aircon but temperatures were between 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the early morning. You need to be moderately fit to climb down 2 flights of stairs to reach your room. The road up is very tight and big cats may have difficulties going uphill in the tight environment. Hotel manager Priyanatha helped me book a very punctual Tuk Tuk that fetched me up and down. Thank you!"

So good we stayed an extra night

"We felt at home in Ella Ridge View, so much we stayed an extra night. The property is ideally situated to walk to the town centre (10min), Nine Arch Bridge (30min), Little Adam’s Peak (1hr) and Ella Rock (2hr), all places we would highly recommend visiting, especially Little Adam at sunrise. The family live in a house next to the accommodation and they made us feel so welcome. They helped us with trips, way finding and were very attentive to our needs at the accommodation. The view from the room was spectacular, we could see across the value to Ella Rock. While the room did not have AC it was not an issue because it was cool in the forest and the tan sufficed, the excellent fridge and comfortable bed helped too. The bathroom was clean and towels plush. There was a family of monkeys that live in the trees locally and we spent an afternoon watch them feed on the bananas near the balcony. It is just a shame I can’t upload the video here. I have uploaded photos of the best breakfast we have had in Sri Lanka. Sameera makes it all fresh and it is absolutely delicious. We had hoppers and roti, fruit and juices that were all fantastic. I would stay for the breakfast alone, it’s the reason we stayed another night. Thanks you Sameera and family for making our Ella stay so special."

Fantastic quiet hotel with great service and food

"The Cubes is a modern clean hotel with comfortable beds and amazing views. The service provided by the team is fantastic and they will do and arrange anything to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is out of town and is very quiet. Nice if you want to get away from the buzz of Ella. It’s a short Tuk Tuk ride away, which again the team will organise (500lkr each way). We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast there as well and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. "

"Really enjoyed our stay at Ella Retreat. The glamping tent was ideal for us, spacious and comfortable, and the balcony overlooking the waterfall was amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, organising our (very tasty) meals, tuktuks and laundry. "

"We had a wonderful time in this beautiful and peaceful property. The spacious rooms have a fantastic view and we loved the restaurant offering yummy and fresh food - loved the freshly cut fruit at the breakfast 💚 I would say the biggest highlight are the experiences offered by the hotel with their experienced and amazing naturalist guide Sudheerah who brought us around in a beautiful walk and shared many interesting insights about the the nature and the wildlife here. We highly recommend to take these tours if you come here as it makes a big difference vs going where everyone else goes!! The staff is very very nice and welcoming and we are really grateful for the beautiful hospitality "

"Excellent location in Ella where we stayed for one night. Very friendly and courteous staff. Comfortable & clean room. View from the balcony overlooking the valley and the mountain was spectacular. The hotel has an amazing collection of plants in the garden. Easy access to adventure activities and trail to Mini Adams Peak. Breakfast had variety of choices and food was tasty. Great value"
