"The small house is in a secluded spot with fantastic views of Castiglione and the mountains, both from the terrace as well as the bedroom. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were a really nice addition. The owners welcomed us with traditional food and wine, which was very unexpected but very welcome when we arrived in the late afternoon. They also provided us with a lot of recommendations regarding both restaurants and fun things to do in the area. We highly recommend the house and plan to be back. "

"Our stay was better than expected with the spectacular views, surrounded by mountains and Mother Nature. It was peaceful, relaxing and most enjoyable living in a house built in 1636 with modern comforts without having given up its history and charm. "It was our first trip to Italy, and this was the perfect family dwelling. The pictures don't begin to capture the breathtaking Dolomites or the outstanding accommodations! The kitchen is a gem! So convenient and easy to cook. We had a chef come in to fix dinner on our last day, and he loved the kitchen, too. We took walks/hikes on the surrounding trails, and relaxed by the gorgeous pool which, by the way, has beautiful night lighting!! The owner fixed pizza in the outdoor pizza oven one evening, and it was a highlight of our trip with fresh, delicious ingredients and gracious conversation...and fabulous wines. We did not mind the narrow and winding roads on the days we drove to Lucca (90 minutes) or Florence (2.5 hours), but be aware of the challenging driving that we saw as a Tuscan adventure rather than a negative. It's the perfect get-away!"

"I actually booked this hotel by mistake thinking it was closer to La Spezia. What a great mistake! We immediately fell in love with it and actually changed the next part of our trip in order to spend another night here. It is definitely off the beaten path, but that is what we liked about it. It’s in a charming little village and the building and rooms were great. They were so accommodating. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Thank you to the woman who worked reception when we arrived and for the very nice gentleman who worked the overnight shift, you all were great!"
