"When we arrived the check in process was very easy. The cottage itself was very clean and warm. Bed was comfortable and two bathrooms which is great of you stay with a whole family. If you want to use the hot tub make sure to tell the owners immediately once you book. I told them a week before arriving and had had to ask twice to be able to use it. We could see in the guest book other people had been greeted with welcome basket. We didn’t. Would also been great if there were a welcome letter...

"Cottage has everything you need for a family to stay! Plenty of room, kitchen equipped to cook, highland cows outside front door! We were greeted by much appreciated milk, tea, bread etc! Great after a long drive up! We ebiked and walked in Dunkeld, climbed Lochnagar, explored Braemar, sledged at Glen Shee, explored Glen Clova - and always returned to a cosy, welcoming cottage! "

"Working over Christmas we booked this break to get away from all the madness. Just us and the dog. Thimblewynd was just perfect and we loved it. Peaceful and comfy throughout we chilled out in front of thr log burner or in the hot tub, the tv wasn't on once! We eat at the Kirkstyle Inn which was lovely but made ourselves breakfast and snacks in the well equipped kitchen. There was not a single thing we could fault and we loved every minute. Thanks to Maggie for hosting us. "
