The hotel was really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of some areas was not good, this includes cobwebs. The bar menu was good, a bit pricey but it is expected. The Al a cart menu on the other hand was very disappointing, no imagination when it can to the menu and very limited. The breakfast buffet was great. My partner and I had a good time though.

We liked the hotel, the spa and the room. We had an issue with 1 meal which was refunded by the duty manager. After returning home I wrote to the Manager to explain my views on what we were served and a few issues with the bathroom. After 2 weeks, in his ignorance he has yet to acknowledge my email. We will not be recommending or returning to the Atholl Palace.

Was good, liked it. Miles better than the Dunalastair hotel suites!!! Dunalastair Hotel Suites was where we were booked to stay. Turned out to be a scam - no better than a travel lodge - uncaring unhelpful dishonest staff! You have been warned! Glad myself and my family left 10 min after realising what we had got ourselves into and stayed at the Atholl Palace instead!

Stunning hotel in beautiful grounds. Real fires, comfortable lounges with lovely views, a great bar with friendly and helpful staff, delicious food - didn't get to try the spa but it looked lovely (next time). Would definitely like to spend longer here.

We were given a room with a wet bathroom. There were no mats or anything to walk on.Husband fell and broke his arm had to ask twice to have an ambulance called. Prior to that the food is overpriced and poor quality. To get to our room we had to walk through the restaurant with our bags and no help to figure out where the room was. Luckily the waitresses were nice and helped us out.

We’ve stayed several times and have also enjoyed the grandeur and the history of the Victorian hotel. This time we stayed in a Superior Room on the top floor with a view along the valley. The room was spacious and warm. The super king sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked to have been recently renovated. Plenty of choice at breakfast, and all very tasty. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in front of one of the many open fires dotted around the ground floor.

We had waited 40 years to return to Athol Palace Hotel. Reception was friendly and informative. The grounds are amazing and the map provided allows for easy navigation. The pitch n putt definitely neededa mow. Paige in The Stags Head, bar and restaurant, was wonderful. Always engaging well with diners. Laura in the main restaurant for breakfast was friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent. As for the other staff we found them quite rude at times, which put a real dampener on our trip as customer service is important to us when travelling. We were often ignored and not made feel welcome. Don't ask for a bathrobe to go to the day spa. After asking reception 3 times with no receipt of robes, we made our way to the spa and pool. Lovely facility but the staff there were quite rude when I asked if I could get robes. After nearly 3 hrs waiting including our swim n spa our robes had been delivered to our room. Too late. All reception had to say was that they were really short on housekeeping stafff and it could be sometime before they would arrive instead of telling us 3 times that they would be sent up straight away. I know it might seem petty, but we had had a huge drive and wanted to relax at the spa and have a snooze before going to dinner. Customer service certainly needs to be addressed to enhance the beauty of this magical hotel.

The Athol Palace is truly a gem. The Palace itself is preserved well with minor cosmetic repairs noted. The grounds are lovely and a short walk to town is a must. The swimming pool, hot tub and steam were enjoyed but the sauna not working. The gym was small but workable. The “cozy” double was small but still sufficient. The dining room, bar and common area were all comfortable. The food was average. I stayed on a weekend. There were weddings going on all weekend. I feel the staff was overwhelmed and there was not enough help.

This palace is up on a hill and driving up to it took my breath away. Pitlockry is a quaint little town and Atholl is the "Queen" of the quaintness. The building and grounds are exceptional. Be sure to walk all of the grounds and take in the unique gardens and tree lined trails into town and the backside along the creek. A memorable place to stay!

A grand hotel in a beautiful setting however inside there are many areas showing their age. Our room was average and for the money spent would have expected a robe and slippers. Reception staff were excellent but other staff didn’t look happy and not attentive. The bar had a friendly atmosphere but even at a high end drinks were expensive £17 for two standard drinks. Had high expectations but have had better experiences at lesser establishments and won’t be returning.

We have a very unpleasant dinner experience at the hotel. One of the guests could not eat her steak because if was so tough. Staff seemed to be having a dispute about something, then they began to set-up the dinning room, for breakfast while we were still eating our dinner. Very surprised that such a lovely establishment provided such a poor eating experience
