"Overall, the stay was very good and was perfect for our trip to the Lake District. The location is perfect for navigating the Lakes as easy access to the M6. To the top of the lakes, it took us 1 hour by car. The continental breakfast served was plenty to start each day with. You can have cooked for £12 extra but we felt the continental option was more than enough. The room was spacious and up to date. We stayed in the Herdsman. "One of our go to places when up in Kendal for business. Clean & friendly and a good choice of things on the menu. Food is delicious! Only downfall we had was we booked a certain table for dinner one evening and one member of staff had moved us and was quite rude about it! Original table was empty the whole time we were in the restaurant! Wouldn’t have minded if she had been polite and explained why the move had been made!"

"Beautiful views… The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The host Janet was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and completely respected our privacy. Awesome place to stay, with amazing walks just outside the door. We loved the waterfall which was a very short walk away… The track leading to the accommodation is covered in potholes which is the only downside. The views and the walks outweigh this minor inconvenience. We highly recommend…"
