"Our family of five had a fantastic stay at this spacious house. It's perfectly located for exploring the region and the host is lovely. While the house does show its age and can be a bit humid in certain areas, we were lucky with the weather and found the house to be well-heated. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the tea and biscuits, and the kids loved the selection of books. Overall, we recommend this property for a great family getaway!"

"We really enjoyed staying at this property. We went to a wedding up the road and used the house as a base for walking locally and in the Lake District. If you would like to eat at the butchers arms, we recommend making a booking for dinner- we missed out. The greyhound in shap was excellent though. "

"We stayed for four nights in Turnip House and absolutely loved it. The place is warm and inviting and the slipper bath at the back of the bedroom made it for me!! A bonus is the house is situated on the edge of a lovely village. Our two collies were completely at home in the large enclosed garden and didn't even feel the urge to chase the chickens. It was just lovely. Our hosts made sure we were happy. We couldn't have asked for more. "

"Bathrooms and bedrooms great, kitchen not great but adequate, dining room good with plenty of mats for the table, sitting room ok but furniture a bit shabby, utility room good with good quality white goods. Garden not good for children of all ages really, nowhere to kick a ball and so steep we couldn’t let the little ones play at all outside, not that we had the weather to do that anyway!! All in all a good house but could be better. "

"The location and park is beautiful with very nice views of the dales. The accommodation is well equipped, clean and modern. The hot tub was great for relaxing in after a long walk. Owner are very nice and helpful, I would recommend this property and hope to stay again."

"We enjoyed the property very much. Minutes on foot to a large supermarket and many restaurants. Friendly and responsive hosts once they were finally contacted (see below) through Host and Stay. The only downside was the management firm Host and Stay. They were very inflexible on the 4 pm entry, and they would not even allow us to place our luggage in the foyer prior to this time. When we asked for help with heating and using the clothes washer, all we got were text messages. It took an...

"Excellent location by the river. The property very spacious and well equipped.Very comfortable bed.You can leave French doors open lie in bed and listen to the river and the ducks,sit outside on the balcony with a G&T. Easy walk into town. Would recommend and would return."
