"We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "Such a beautiful spot to have a pub/ hotel. The staff are friendly and polite and the food delicious. My only dislike was that even though we didn’t have a dog with us. Our room had clearly been used by someone who had a dog with them previously. The rooms could do with a paint in places and there were some huge cobwebs on the ceiling. "Amazing. Right from the start the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "
