"We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage which has been decorated and laid out to a very high standard. Everything in the cottage had been thought of to enhance and make our stay so comfortable and enjoyable - The welcome basket was also a lovely additional touch. The hot tub is a great addition and great for relaxing in after a day exploring the local beautiful countryside. "I would have given this five stars but it is extremely expensive to stay in this house and while we were actually quite happy to not have Wifi or indeed phone reception, we were frustrated and disappointed to be told we couldn't use the superior Wifi connection in the café. There should be somewhere to download things and send the odd email for half an hour with a decent connection. "

"This a nice little house in Alferton, it was great for myself, a friend and my large dog. It was well equipped and comfortable. It was a little dated upstairs and there was no photos of details of the bedrooms but they were clean and well catered. My friend who stayed in the back room noted the boiler (which is in that room) is very noisy and kept her up but that wouldn’t bother some people. Unforunatley, the premises weren’t as Dog Friendly as first thought when booking the holiday. There was nowhere to exercise the dogs off lead, in fact there was no where on the premises dogs were allowed, apart from inside the cottage. "Cottage was easy to find and the instructions to get the keys from the key box were easy to understand. The village is a quiet rural community, up a steep hill from the local pub with no other facilities but it's a short drive into Ashbourne. The property is nicely decorated throughout with all mod cons. The bathroom is as good as it looks in the pictures. A shame that there is no garden and minimal roadside parking."

"The cottage is very welcoming and is equipped with everything that you may need. It is very central to the lovely village with shops and pub almost within touching distance. The off-road parking is a boon although there was always space on the road if more than one car was used. All-in-all an excellent stay and no doubt we will return as there is so much to see in the area and the cottage makes a wonderful base."
