"Last minute stay in a traditional pub hotel. Room was fine and quite big although I didn't go inspecting everywhere. Had a little black around the shower but hey it's not the Hilton. Food was lovely in the pub, arrived quickly, really tasty. Wouldn't stay for more than a day although the village looked quite quaint until I saw two homeless people fighting outside Gregg's"

"We stayed in the Kedelston room which was a lovely cosy room tastefully decorated and had all the extras that maybe required. Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries and sewing kit. The bar offered a cocktail menu along the usual drinks you would expect. We dined in the restaurant which had a nice atmosphere. The food was good quality and tasty and reasonably priced. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place to others."

"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

The room was spacious and comfortable and the entire lodge is well decorated with attention to detail including the music in the Drawing Room, information about the local area and amenities in guest rooms. "The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...
