"For us, this was a great choice. A quiet location and we had a view of the river from our room and also from the common area patios. The hotel clerk gave us excellent advice to take the scenic train from the station across the street which was a wonderful experience. He also showed us a scenic drive through the wine country with a detour to a lookout point which was breathtaking. "Our stay for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary was exceptional in every way! The views of the land are breath taking, walking around the beautiful property and enjoying the pool was relaxing (we had good sunny weather..the pool was on the chilly side but we and eventually 2 other couples all went in for a refreshing dip!) We really enjoyed the intimate tour of the wine making area and did a tasting, bought a 20 year tawny and 2 vintage ports ( we already had been in Porto and the valley...
