"We came to visit Gettysburg and Amish Country and were excited to learn that while we had spent much time learning about the Civil War, Lee had actually come to visit the very house we stayed at and is detailed in a book located at the property called “A River to Cross”. Before we left we took a picture with our pup on “Lee’s rock” where he rested while the horses drank from a spring nearby and his troops had tea and recharged at the property. "Waterford is far enough away from Washington, but close enough to make a weekend getaway easy. And staying at Scarlet Springs Farm for the weekend was truly the icing on the cake. And Laura and her family made our stay even better. The house is well appointed - fantastic kitchen, comfy beds, beautiful views from back deck. This is a wonderful location to visit so many interesting vineyards, farm stands, nurseries, and some very nice restaurants in Purcellville. We look forward to visiting...
