"The property is amazing, and I was especially fascinated by the old elevator. Both the dinner buffet and breakfast were excellent. Be sure to try the "curd" — a yogurt-like dish made from buffalo milk. There are plenty of activity options (for an additional fee), and I especially enjoyed tea plucking while wearing a saree. The staff were all helpful. The room wasn’t too spacious but was clean and nicely decorated. "

"Wow—best view on town! When I got to the property, I felt like “I don’t even need to go hiking, this view beats anything I could hike to.” You can literally see and hear a waterfall from the balcony! Super nice staff, good food, including a particularly nice breakfast spread. A little bit of a pain to hike up there from town, but doable in 10 minutes or a very short tuktuk. "Hotel with lots of historic character. Admin/hotel check-in staff was ok - just like any other mass hotel no customized attention or recognition of guests. Breakfast staff was very courteous. "

"The view from our room was spectacular of the waterfall. Sat out on balcony each morning and evening enjoying the view. The Hillcrest is walking distance to town but is on a very steep hill They have Tuk Tuk available for rides into town. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was provided. "

"Overall my stay was great. The view and peacocks were beautiful. The food was also great. Only complaint I have is there was a mouse that entered our room. The hotel provided a mouse trap which did catch the mouse. Keep in mind that this room is outdoors so you may see insects and mosquitoes in your room. "
