"We picked a very busy day to need a bed in Durham as it was the university open weekend. La Spada was reasonably priced & good enough, despite quite a few adverse reviews. The hotel is not set up to take guests after 10pm, a fact not highlighted when we booked at 11.30pm & then tried to get in. Fortunately we were admitted. There was no breakfast service."

"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. "Such a lovely place, in the centre of fields with horses grazing peacefully around making the setting perfect! 10 mins on foot to the beach (to go sea glass hunting) and 10 mins in the car to Morrisons. The beach is pebble and it has a steep incline so if (like me) you suffer with bad knees, you need to take care but it can be done.
