"Had a hard time figuring out how to adjust the temperature. It was warm in the room, but I did open the windows more which helped a great deal. Wouldn’t recommend for elderly people or anyone with difficulty climbing stairs."

"Great hospitality from the staff. Breakfast was good but a little overpriced for a basic continental spread. I would have expected the continental breakfast to be included with the room rate. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous! I would love to dine there again. When I got my final bill for my stay (room and breakfast) I was asked if I wanted to add further gratuity to it which was a little surprising and made me feel a bit awkward. "A lovely homely cottage, comfortable and well equipped, with a rather special riverside location offering views and privacy. Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. We only had a short stay but got a lot in , including a trip to Wivenhoe on the riverside opposite. Will definitely rebook next time we are 'out East' ."
