"Capitán Max is a fantastic place to have as your base on Santa Cruz Island. The rooms are clean and big, breakfast is nice, and the staff are incredible. Lourdes, who greeted us when we arrived and was in contact with us during our stay was incredibly helpful. She recommended us things to do, helped us understand how to get places and even booked our ferries to the other islands for us. "

The main avenue was really close to Lava House, so you can come and go as you please and it just takes a couple minutes to reach the main bay. Overall I had a great experience with this place."

"Ariana’s is excellent to stay in. The beds are super comfortable, the view from the kitchen area is great, the air conditioning worked great. Across the street is undeveloped land so we saw several new birds. It is a little over a mile to the harbor so if that’s more of a walk than you’d like, taxis are everywhere. All kinds of stores are within 2-3 blocks. We loved the neighborhood. "

"We (family of 3) stayed for 4 nights in the tortuga bay suite. So I can only speak for the room we stayed and not sure how other rooms are as they are all different. Overall, we are very disappointed and feel frustrated on our stay. The room looks nothing like the pictures. It is very small, dark, damp and hot with little space for luggages. "We only stayed overnight between the afternoon ferry from Isabela and the morning ferry to San Cristobal. It is difficult to rate the hotel as we were not there long. Our room did have a nice balcony with a hammock. The room had a mini fridge. The water in the shower was cool, couldn’t get it to go hot. The grounds of the hotel were nice and has a small pool. "
