"Nice place to stay. Comfortable clean rooms. I thought for this price they may make the beds. I also asked for a special request that the said they could do, but they didnt end up doing it... It was flowers on the bed for my girlfriends birthday. Then we asked if we could have one more breakfast as we were still hungry as compensation for not having power for the day and then they said no, which wasnt a big deal. Just thought they may do that. The serving staff were very nice."

"Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. They let me shower after checkout and stored my bag, which was nice! The room is very average, but there was a gap above the door that didn’t shut all the way which let bugs in at night. "Excellent location however property in great need of updating / renovation. Basics such as mosquito nets, had holes in so didn't work, and had a little trouble with communication (being English) which didn't experience at other more rural places. Breakfast very very basic and not great for children (only tea or coffee provided etc.)"

"We had a wonderful stay at Angel Rest. The owners are very kind and helpful. We cooked in their kitchen, showed them some of our cuisine and got taught making crab curry. Its just 200m to the beach and 800m to the supermarket. The rooms and bathroom are new, bed is comfortable. We added two extra days."

"Staying at Castle Bay Guesrhouse is like visiting your family. Kanthi and Kantha are very warm and welcoming and want to make their guests comfortable , happy snd well fed..Kanthi is a great cook and her dahl is the best. Rooms are well maintained and very clean. The location is walking distance from a beautiful beach and a short tuk tuk ride to restaurants and other beaches where you can surf or snorkel. We highly recommend this very economicak guest house ."

"Lovely stay at Dinsara Pearl Villa with Noah and his family. The Villa is a little guest house tucked right on the headland at cape Weligama. It’s a beautiful view to wake up to in the morning, you can even check the surf at fisherman‘s reef from the garden. The accommodation is modest, simple, but comfortable. Beautiful haven surrounded by wildlife

"Really beautiful haven in Mirissa, sitting right on the river and with a lovely pool. Sitting on the balcony, we saw monkeys, lizards, bats and a woodpecker. The furniture was all beautiful and they'd thought of everything, it was very comfortable and the AC was very powerful. The manager couldn't do enough to help, giving fantastic food recommendations, arranging free tuk tuks to get to town and welcoming us to use the pool after we'd checked out"

"Beautiful and special property. Outstanding customer service. Lots of low key and interesting activities. Great pool and gorgeous beach. The food could have been better and more fairly priced, but the staff was attentive to our concerns. "

"Overall a really nice, comfortable place to stay. Wait staff, Marlin, and exec chef were friendly and enjoyed our conversations! Breakfast was good, dinner was good, grounds and pool area very well kept. The superior room was spacious, clean, and loved our balcony. Stayed for 2 nights, ate our meals there, lounged poolside for the day, and just had a fantastic leisurely time, which is all we had on our itinerary for Weligama! Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!"

The best in Welligama!

"I loved the location which was on the beach and it was a great view to see surfers surfing. Loved the food and the music wasn't too loud. I can't remember the name of the gentlemen staff but he spoke good English and was Sri Lankan who used to work in the middle east. He really really made us feel welcome and comfortable. Taking the extra trouble to make guests feel welcome. If you had the pleasure to meet him during your stay, he will surely look after you. The room was beautiful and spacious & great value for money."
