"Beautiful cottage with every convenience provided in a lovely setting, not far from the beach. The most fabulous hamper was in the kitchen when we arrived, everything for a couple of breakfasts. Plenty of hot water and very comfortable bed. Lovely place to stay."

"The place was spacious and made an excellent base for exploring the Suffolk area whilst being really quiet. Shower wasn't great but they'd provided all the utensils you'd need for cooking and enjoying your stay. Bed had a rubber cover and there was a noisy liner under the bed sheet which made it very warm but it was comfortable. Decor and furnishings are fairly budget but it's good value and ultimately a nice space to relax and enjoy the evening after a day out exploring and walking."

"Shingle Cottage is lovely, it felt stylish and cosy all at the same time. It’s in a rural location, perfect for country walks and exploring the nearby towns and villages. We couldn’t have wanted for a nicer place to stay. "

"A very friendly host. Great location for walking on heath land and the Suffolk coastal path. Within easy reach of Minsmere and Sutton Hoo. Thorpeness is a very interesting fantasy coastal resort developed for the wealthy in the early 20th century. Worth a visit for its architecture alone."

"Our second visit but equally as good as the first. Cottage is cute and has everything you need. Peaceful area, can just hear the birds and the church bells, but only a few minutes walk to two pubs with good food. Excellent base for discovering the area. Host Christina is really communicative, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend."

"We stayed 2 nights in the cottage with our 2 children. We cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped with just the right amount of things you might need during your stay. The welcome basket of teas and biscuits etc is a lovely touch. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. We had a 2 year old with us so we requested a stair-gate for the top of the stairs which was provided. It’s not actually a gate but a piece of wood which fixes to the wall but it does the job. Shop, cafe , bakery & chip shop on your doorstep. Welcome basket was very much appreciated as I did leave some essentials. "Great base for us to reconnect with old friends and revisit some favourites places I haven’t been to since I left Suffolk. Nice cottage with cute garden and great views out the back.Garden is a real sun trap and fenced in so great for dogs or small children. Best equipped property I’ve ever stayed in. Set back from the road so quite quiet however the pavement to the separate parking is narrow and no pavement for most of the way down to the Queen’s head so was a little scary at times but this...

"Good to have a return visit to this lovely cottage. I love the front garden, which is full of traditional 'cottage garden' flowers and was as beautiful as I remembered. The inside is tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything you need. It's a good base for visiting the coast and the nearby reserves such as Minsmere."
