"Warm welcome in a lovely country pub. First class pub food reasonably priced, and well kept real ale. Compact room in excellent condition had lots of thoughtful little extras I didn’t expect in a pub with rooms, including mirror at right height for stool with hair dryer. Independent heating (not needed this time) and effective double glazing so no traffic noise. "

"Very clean, comfortable room. Pretty quiet considering Main Street location. There’s no food available but space provided to eat your own if you want and plenty of tea and coffee in the lounge. Stayed on a Sunday so it was cheaper price - not sure if it’s worth top dollar but it’s a nicely done place. "

"Property built in 16th century, has alot of character and uniqueness. Short walk to beach, excellent staff, onsite food adventures, near top attractions like Charmouth fossil beach. Slight peeling of ceiling paint, did not deter us, really enjoyed property and met new friends from UK. "

"Location: Hotel is sited close to the Cathedral and the heart of the city. The only major drawback for some might be the lack of a car park although this did not affect me as I arrived by bus with a bus stop just a few yards away from the hotel. Room: My room although a little dark was well equipped and very quiet. The bathroom has rather dated with a deep bath and a shower that had to be hand held with no shower screen or curtain. Overall the room was very comfortable and I certainly had a good night’s sleep. Food/Drink: There is the offer of a very basic and limited continental breakfast or a good range of cooked breakfasts if you prefer. The hotel has an excellent range of craft beers and serves a range of evening meals. Staff: Very welcoming and helpful. Overall: If Wells is your destination I would certainly recommend staying here. "The property was in character with the area and is in itself a fine building. Interesting inside with its multi-levels. Staff and service was excellent - all very helpful and attentive. Lucky with the weather sitting outside looking across the square was really great and our party of 10 had a very relaxed and interesting stay."
