NOT ENOUGH ADJECTIVE TO DESCRIBE SHOW AWESOME THIS PLACE IS!!!
We will NEVER forget this week!!! The House IS AMAZING... The staff is better. 5 Star service from Estephan and "The Ladies" and Juan and Alonso helped us with all our excursions. Breakfast every morning was a treat. THE JUNGLE is crazy good. Waterfalls and river exploring was so much fun. Shout out to enry and Norma at Dominical Adventures for the best surf lessons and instructors. Beyond everything we could have hoped for....we even met the owner while he was working on the property. You would have to be an idiot to not stay at Villa de Los Aries!!! Costa Rica...Pura Vida

Amazing, relaxing unbelievable staff!
There were 8 of us in 2 cars. The location the first time is a little fun to find but it is DEFINATELY worth it! Juan, Estaban the kitchen staff, housekeeper and chef were all amazing! We had them celebrate our daughter’s graduation from college with us! The views are unbelievable, Costa Rica snow and the sunsets! Great waterfalls, monkey watching, toucans in property. Grocery stores and fruit stands close - we would go back in a heart beat!

A slice of paradise
This is an absolutely amazing property. Pictures can’t do it justice. After a long ride from the airport to get there, we stepped onto the front porch all of our jaws dropped. We couldn’t believe we were staying in this place. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff, the property with these awesome hikes down to the river in the waterfalls. Unless you’re familiar with Costa Rica would definitely encourage you to rent the vehicle from the concierge or he will personally show for you wherever you want to go. He also help make any type of reservations, meals and anything else. Can’t say enough about the staff. Just double.

4th time staying here, it gets better every time
Such a unique and amazing property. Breathtaking views, beautiful waterfalls , saw howler monkeys and toucans almost every day. The exceptional staff keep the house very clean and prepare a beautiful breakfast every morning to start the day right. We were able to reach Dominical and Uvita beaches, ziplining and mango river kayaking all within a short drive from the property. And also spent a couple days just relaxing in and beside the pool. It was my 4th time there and it never disappoints.

Fabulous place to retreat
We so enjoyed our stay - the staff were terrific and really let us focus on our retreat time. Lovely, home-cooked meals and really thoughtful help from the house manager. Juan Jose went above and beyond to make sure our time was well-spent, and he's also a great driver if you need to add that on! Gorgeous views, very spacious, very clean, and loved that the staff skimmed the pool and tidied the grounds every day. Cool in the evenings and mornings and pleasant in the afternoons--we barely needed the AC in the rooms. Terrific people, great place, and we'll definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing!
This property is amazing and everybody should experience it at least once! It sits on 60 acres of raw land with waterfalls, rivers and all kinds of fruit trees (including tiny pineapple growing out front). Jorge is the concierge and there everyday serving breakfast and helping with whatever you need. I highly recommend having the chef come in and prepare your dinners. She is an amazing cook! This property will not disappoint and we look forward to staying here again.

Another Great Time at Villa Los Aires
This was our second stay at the Villa and we enjoyed it immensely once again. 20 in our group ranging from ages 1 to 76. Beautiful property with great customer service by the whole staff. Needs are met promptly and any assistance you request is given their utmost attention. Breakfast by Yinnerie is always a delight and she is such a kind person. The whole staff is so accommodating and we have made great friends on both of our visits. Juan (Macho), Esteban, Maria and Sophia did such a great job engaging with us while not being over-intrusive. We are excited for our next trip to see everyone. Thanks again to Stephen for sharing his home with us for this vacation. Another job well done. Pura Vida!

A little piece of heaven
We were a family of 7 so lots of space for all! After a long nighttime drive we arrived to this beautiful home, greeted by the amazing staff and owner. It really is a wonderful home and property where great memories were made and everyone one unwinded and relaxed and enjoyed the amenities the property offered. We did a few excursions - zip lining, ATVing, Beach and National Park but looked forward to returning to our”Costa Rican” home. The property has lots to discover - Esteban took us on a couple of hikes to the waterfalls - he is a fountain of information and we learned a lot about the fauna and flora. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful . The beauty of this place, besides the scenery, is the amazing staff who were there for whatever we needed and felt like family during our stay. They went over and above, from changing a flat tire to being up for three who had to leave for home at 5:00 a.m. and having coffee and breakfast for them (told them not to get up - we would grab something ourselves) but there they were with big smiles on their faces. This was a true Costa Rican experience and would highly recommend it to everyone. I will warn you to be prepared for the drive to the property, 4 wheel drive a must - but isn’t this a part of the whole experience!

New Years family vacation
What a unique experience staying in a house surrounded by jungle. From the moment we arrived we were met by Esteban, who throughout our 8 day stay took care of our every need. The house is located on approximately 60 acres of lush vegetation that includes several waterfalls and streams. Howler monkeys and Toucans are common on the property. You can spend 2 days just exploring the waterfalls without leaving the property. There is also a wonderful pool to enjoy during the heat of the day. We had 17 people in our family group and still had room to stretch out. Yinnery is the cook that provides breakfast every morning and also will cook dinner on request. Her dinners are fantastic so I highly recommend booking her for some of your meals. The house cleaner is awesome, she cleans every room every day and the floors in the common area throughout the day. Juan is available to book excursions at your request. You will need a 4x4 vehicle to get to the property but it’s a great adventure driving to the house. The beach is a 20 minute drive and there are several restaurants close by. Overall this is a great property for fun and relaxation.

Paradise
We had such a great stay, it was hard to leave. This might not be for everyone because it is very rural, but it truly is paradise! You do need a four wheel drive, and you get used to the roads and driving quickly. If you like to hike and generally be outdoors, but then to swim and lounge in luxury, this place is for you. The staff is amazing. Usually at a VRBO you are totally self sufficient, but here you are pampered. Jorge even went with us to San Isidro to the farmer's market and brought us hiking and to one of the local waterfalls. He also assisted to rent cars and had them delivered to the Villa, and arranged for our pick up at the airport and delivery back for our flight. (which I also recommend) Our breakfasts were awesome, and the night staff were so attentive, making sure the hot tub was on if we wanted it, and lighting the tiki torches. The day staff cleaned our rooms daily and made the beds, and spit polished the entire place. Book Villa Los Aires, you will never regret it! (I also personally brought a small gift for each of the staff and envelopes so I could tip if I wanted to, and I definitely did, they were so fantastic!)

Incredible stay in the clouds!
We had the most incredible stay at the Villa! That was unbelievable. We hired two of the staff to be our private drivers, and they have become lifelong friends! The long drive up the mountain was totally worth it . Plan to stay up there, because it is a long drive down the mountain. There are so many wonderful hikes to private waterfalls on the property. There is also access to horseback riding and atvs close by. Highly recommend following Stephan’s suggestions . He booked us the most incredible tours ! Stephan made sure our trip was perfect . The food that the villa cooked for us was plentiful and delicious . No need to go to restaurants. I Highly suggest hiring Juan and his father who work at the villa to be your private drivers . They were there every second that we needed them . They are the most caring and wonderful people you will ever meet . Esteban and Maria who work in the villa are also amazing. They made my children’s experience incredible !! We can’t say enough good things about the people of the villa . Stay here ! You will never regret it ! The bedrooms are spacious as well and the air conditioning is a plus !! We will be back !

A Slice of Heaven
What a great experience! The house, property, and staff exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful and looks even nicer than the pics on the website. We only had 8 in our group, so we had plenty of room. I could see this easily accommodating 20 people. Wifi and AC both worked great and we spent many hours in the pool and exploring the property. Loved going to sleep to the sound of howler monkeys and waking up to Toucans in the trees. We swam in the rivers, jumped off waterfall cliffs, and sampled many of the native fruits on the property. Maria cooked us fabulous meals, kept the house perfectly clean, and is such a wonderful person. Estaban took us on tours of the property and provided us with so many interesting facts about the plants, wildlife, and culture of Costa Rica. Both Estaban and Maria are wonderful people and made this a very special vacation for our family. We did explore Dominical, Uvita, and Manual Antonio during our stay, but our favorite times were spent together on the property. We've stayed at many VRBOs, but this was our favorite. Also, want to mention that the owner Stephen was great to work with. Very informative and always got back to us ASAP with questions. If you are considering a real Costa Rica vacation, you would have a hard time finding a better place than Villa Los Aires! We will be back next year. Pura Vida!

Beautiful Place, Long Drive
The villa is stunning. They have a waterfall about 10 minutes from behind the house. And a small one in the front of the house. We had fresh bananas every day. We had a maid service every day and had breakfast cooked every day. The cook was so beautiful, and she had a beautiful spirit, and she was so sweet. The maids were just as sweet. I’m going to miss Alonso and Stephen. They were accommodating and couldn’t have been better. Juan and Esteban were even better once Alonso and Stephen had left on their trip. Anything we needed, they were there, and they helped. No matter what! One of our cars got stuck, and they ended up helping us get it out of the mud and cleaned it off for us. The only thing I recommend is that you make sure if you rent this home, you are ready for that 3 1/2 to 4 Hour Dr. from the airport in SJO. Also, ensure that you are given 4 x 4 vehicles because the terrain is very rough going towards the Villa Road. And if you are sensitive to altitude, this is not the place for you. Many of us could not eat because of how High up we were, but the place is beautiful. Make sure you bring bug spray because the bugs love that house just as much as we did. We were able to see a sloth in the morning, and the toucans would wake us up every morning. I love this house. I wish it were not so far from the airport. I was also sensitive to the altitude so I experienced some medical issues but once I made it down to lower level I was fine. Once again the house is beautiful the house for beautiful the maid and the cooks were beautiful. We enjoyed it. They also threw me a birthday party that was so beautiful and lavish I appreciate it so so much. I wish I could go back lol.

Amazing reunion week at the Villa
Five families rented the villa for a mini college reunion, in late July. We were 9 adults and 10 children ages 7-14. I can honestly say that every single person had a fantastic time! From the time we arrived and were greeted by Pablo, to the day we left, we felt like this was our second home. The staff is so kind and accommodating, helping us out with whatever we needed - from the big things like arranging transportation and activities, to the little things like hooking up a movie or getting a special dessert for the kids. Pablo in particular had so much patience with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted to do and the best way to do it. Getting consensus from 19 people is not easy and he always made sure we had all the options and information available. The house and surrounding area is magical. The kids spent hours in the pool and spotting reptiles, insects and birds around the property. The common central area is a great space where we could all hang out and catch up. We even watched a strong, (loud!) rainy-season storm come over the mountains from the comfort of the open-air living area. Definitely do the hike to the waterfall on the property, and try to get up early to do some bird-watching. Lastly, this review would not be complete without commending the cooking staff. Some of our group went deep-sea fishing one day and had great success, and Patricia prepared the fish for 2 days straight for us. Even the non-fish eaters loved it. Her meals, whether cooking from ingredients we provided or having her and her staff do it all, were excellent and totally worth the investment. It was so nice to not have to prepare meals after a long day of hiking or sightseeing. Finally, some tips. The drive into the Villa is not for the faint of heart. You definitely need a 4-wheel drive to manage the gravel and hills, and I would not recommend doing it in the dark. However, we heard horror stories before we left about driving in Costa Rica, but overall the main roads and traffic were fine (though we were there in off-season). Also, we were a little under-prepared for the amount of cash (US dollars) on hand we needed, so bring more than you think you need. This was the first trip for all of us to Costa Rica, but it won’t be our last! We hope to come back to the Villa soon! We highly recommend it!

Nice private location
Property was beautiful. Getting to it was difficult as we arrived after dark. Villa was not searchable on GPS so I recommend searching Mirador Los Chorros - A restaurant in Alfombra about 10 minutes from the Villa. Call Pablo once you arrive there and he will happily meet you and guide you to villa. Also happens to be a great restaurant to watch a sunset! Drive along coastal highway was an easy 3 hour drive. Have small US bills for the 2 toll booths. Both our vehicles got ripped off on the change. Turn onto 243 for about 25 minutes. You will be happy you got the 4x4 car rental for the last 12 minutes on the dirt road. Pablo was helpful in recommending beaches and restaurants and activities. Playa Linda was nice and quiet but no restaurants or shops. Playa Dominical turned into our go to beach with plenty of restaurants and surf shops. Surf Boards are $10/day and boogie boards are $5/day. Parked right beside the beach so we didn't have any issues with theft. Hiked to the waterfalls on the property. Very beautiful and our 3 grandchildren (4,5 and 8) managed the hike and played in the creek for quite a while. Our group of 9 went zip lining at flight of the toucan ($45 each) plus $8 for the nature hike which was the only place in Costa Rica that we saw monkeys, sloths and a toucan. We ate at the villa 2 nights. Patricia is a very good cook. $20 per person for a 3 course meal was good value. Plenty of restaurants between villa and Dominical. Don't worry about the outside appearance of the restaurant. Food was good everywhere. Bring small American bills as only the tour operators will take 50 and 100 dollar bills. Exchange for $1 us is approximately 500 colons. You will not get us bills back and you will get ripped of on exchange so keep your payments as close to the cost as possible without getting too much change back. Nobody ever appeared to expect a tip but they were greatful to recieve them. Service was always good and cost was always low. They really want your business. Save $29us for the airport departure tax. Overall we had a very good experience. The people were friendly and we felt safe everywhere we went. We'll be back to costa rica again some day.

6/10 Okay

Good trip
We stayed at Villa Los Aires in February 2014 for 6 nights. We had a great time. The use is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Viviana and her husband did a great job accommodating us. They were extremely helpful and flexible with out big group of people. They did a great job cooking meals for us, and accommodating members of our group with food allergies. Viviana set up snorkeling and white water rafting trips for us, both of which we're amazing. She also recommending a certain company for zip lining which we ended up doing on our own. Again, it was an amazing time. We couldn't have asked for better caretakers. Here are a few things people may want to consider before renting: 1. One of the rooms in the main house does not have AC. 2. The weather was beautiful. No rain, no wind, sunny days, yet the house is in the mountains of Central America which is why I think we lost power almost everyday we were there. Once we lost power for about 12 hours, but according to Viviana the whole area did. It was from approximately 10pm to 10am. It must happen pretty often since all the rooms are equip with battery powered LED light strips which was helpful. The unhelpful thing is about half of them didn't work, and none of them worked in our room. To use the bathrooms we took pool water in a 5 gallon jug and hauled it up to our rooms to fill the toilet tank. We were okay with all of this because it's all part of the adventure. But I think it would be helpful for others to know. 2. The hot water didn't work in our bedroom for the first 2 days we're were there and the cold water didn't work in the upstairs bedroom the entire time we were there. 3. The hottub didn't work while we were there which out of everything was probably the one thing we were disappointed about. The nights were cool and it was perfect hottub weather. 4. One screen in our bedroom windows was old and had tears in it. One tear was quite large. 5. The chess set was ill maintained with spider webs all over it and debris on the board. 6. Their website says the hiking trails are maintained, but they are not. There is a large waterfall pictured on their website, but the trail is no longer there. We never found it after a day of hiking. We had a great time at Villa Los Aires. Thank you very much

Paradise!
Although we had nonstop rain, our stay at the villa was amazing! Transportation was as prearranged and we are so grateful for the drivers getting us to the villa and to activities. Juan Jose, the manager, was easy to communicate with regarding meals and arranging activities. Esteban, the host, is a great source of information about the local flora and fauna(and a fun domino player), Yesenia kept the villa spotless as well as providing amazing meals with Yinnery. They were also kind enough to let a couple of us in the kitchen for a cooking lesson of local dishes(and kept their smiles!). We will definitely come back to enjoy this piece of paradise!

Spectacular Vacation
This was the most magical, special vacation we have ever been in. The property is amazing! Waterfalls, wildlife, beautiful views and house. I cannot begin to describe how wonderful the staff is. Attention to detail, always ready with information, friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. If I could give this property 10 stars I would. The owner is extremely informative, responsive and helpful.

Fabulous Villa
This villa and property exceeded our expectations. We loved the amazing staff. Maria was a wonderful cook and attended to all of our dietary needs. The complementary breakfast was substantial and included many local delights. Esteban was an awesome guide to show us around the property and introduced us to native plants and animals (including monkeys and sloths). Juan responds quickly and was able to shop and book excursions for the whole family. We did several day trips but our favorite days were spent hiking and relaxing at the villa. It is clear that the villa and surrounding property is well maintained and cared for by Stephen.

Stunning views
This remote location does not disappoint. If you love experiencing nature in God’s beautiful landscape this is your spot. JuanJose, Maria and staff took excellent care of us. Our family will always remember our special time in the Costa Rican jungle.
