"I loved the Ship Inn. The staff were very helpful. The room was perfect for what I was looking for. It was walkable from the train station. It was convenient to walk to Dunnottar Castle. I went out early to run and felt safe. The locals were friendly. Lots of cute little restaurants and cafes. The Ship Inn restaurant was very good. I would stay again."

"The hotel is easy to find with plenty of parking. Check in was quick and the girl who showed me to the room was very polite and friendly. The room is big enough for what I needed, although maybe a little dated and the only thing I would really say that was a negative is the room was cold. There was no heater in the room and no air conditioning to heat it up. I do prefer a slightly cooler room but this was cold. "The lodge is set in a very scenic setting next to Lock Aboyne and woodlands which you can walk around. The property itself owned and run by a lovely couple who pretty much seem to do everything themselves. The decor is dated and old fashioned but if you like golf this is a great option as the course setting is fabulous …it’s a 9 hole set over a huge expanse with inclines and some difficult hazards. "It was a real treat to arrive here after a long journey. It is a beautiful, modern house in an idyllic setting. We had ample room to spread out and accommodate our large extended family. Everything was spotless. Vinnie showed my sister around and was responsive to all our questions and requests throughout the stay. We will cherish our memories of this house forever! "The hotel is lovely. I've stayed before and the service is always amazing. I find Aberdeen an increasingly unsafe city - on my first morning there was a man outside the hotel - on the street - in a state of undress and no one was doing anything - no police, sainsburys security guards just watching to make sure he didn't come into their shop. However, the hotel is lovely - a haven"
