"Our weeks stay at the Herdsman’s House a few kms from downtown Sligo was magical. The accommodations were as advertised, impeccably clean, spacious and cozy at the same time. Spectacular views of Sligo Bay and the surrounding farmland. Sheep and cows in pasture surround the Herdsman’s House. Des and Mary made us feel like family, with great tips on places to visit, and what Ireland’s northwest has to offer. They also gave us a bit of the history of the community they cherish. "This was such a wonderful experience to have the opportunity to stay in a beautiful and lovingly restored period home. It truly was like taking a step back in time and like staying in a museum! "Great family stay, a little dated but overall very nice. Rooms were comfortable and apartment was very spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Some nice trails nearby and stunning views. Close by to Sligo and other areas, plus regular bus if you want to leave the car"

"The house has plenty of room with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, which makes for quick showers for everyone in the morning. The kitchen is nicely equipped and everything including the wash machine worked well. The town has a nice market just three doors down and is minutes from Donegal and other sites like Sliebh League cliffs. The rooms were comfy and quiet and our hosts were attentive and gracious.
