"We celebrated our wedding anniversary in this idyllic spot and it was beyond our expectations. We were after somewhere quiet and full of history which is what we got and more. We went in February and the weather was cold but our room had a wood burner and the heating was on and we could always control the thermostat. Our room was spacious, clean and luxurious. The staff at the hotel were very attentive. The breakfast was incredible- it was more of a brunch as it had a huge variety of food from savoury to sweet to ordering eggs and omelettes. Afternoon tea was also a surprise with coffee, tea and pastries/cakes on offer. We ate at the restaurant there and the food was fresh and homemade. We also ate at local eateries, all within walking distance from the hotel so the location (although up a hill as are most in this area). The hot air balloon ride with Discovery balloons was excellent- very professional. We both had the Turkish Spa Package 2- wow! What an experience! The massage was professional, clean, relaxing and so much more than your typical spa as you felt so pampered. Sauna, face masks, hammam bath, massage- the works and every bit was excellent. The hotel organised a tour for us to the Derinkuyu caves and the Goreme Open Air Museum which we thoroughly enjoyed- our guide Okan was fantastic as was our driver. We really had a fantastic time- all booked through Expedia, very easy and worth every penny. Thank-you for an unforgettable holiday. S & D "

"I booked this place for my husbands birthday. I asked for the suite with the private pool. I had booked a late flight in the hope we would arrive and be able to go on the balloons however the balloons were cancelled and the Ali the gentleman at the desk was so kind and gave us a suite for the same price as the budget room. The room was stunning, clean, beautiful and majestic. There was a hammam , jacuzzi , shower and a massive bed, no complaints what so ever! We woke up late the next day and met Gokan, he spoke English and helped us with booking the Swirling Dervish Cermony and the ATV tour. He was always welcoming and polite And we will definitely be coming back as well as highly recommending this gem to everyone. We were lucky to do the balloons on the second day which was epic, took beautiful pictures and Gokan booked this for us with the company Tulip who were great!!! I asked the hotel if they could do something nice for my husband on our arrival and they surprised him with a cake which was delicious!!! There are several native restraunts within walking distance as well as cash points and a little cafe too. THANKYOU Solo Caves for making our experience so magical! "Emre was very helpful the room lovely. I think it had heated flooring which was a nice touch. My stay was only short but emre was helpful and the accommodation some of the best I had in Turkey, water replenished daily, strong wifi, good brekky. About 10 min stroll to the main square and shops, which is nice and leaves you out of the hustle bustle. Lovely views from breakfast and back of property. Biggest issue I had was the restaurant recommendation, it was pretty fancy and not the authentic food I wanted-but this is largely reflective of cappodocia where things are angled towards tourists and priced accordingly so local, authentic food at reasonable prices might be largely unattainable in the close vicinity. Would recommend, especially in order to avoid Goreme "

"Room was clean and beautiful. a true honeymoon suite, the room had an open concept with no walls (including toilet!) and a breathtaking view of the ortahisar castle. They dont have a kitchen and hence no room service, but breakfast was served every morning with the full range of offerings including freshly cooked eggs, coffee and warm food. this was something we looked forward to! ortahisar is a more tranquil area compared to goreme, great if you want to relax. However, marts and food places are further away, so if youre looking to stay in at night, plan ahead! we were received and treated very well by Sezer when we arrived. he gave us a comprehensive introduction to the area and cappadocia, including available activities. Sezer was attentive via whatsapp throughout our trip, and it was very easy coordinating our transportation and transfers before our arrival in cappadocia. receptionist Firat was also very very helpful in helping us maximise our shot stay. he helped us set up a complete itinerary for the best historial and natural highlights of cappadocia. while slightly pricy we really appreciated the flexibility, safety and education the guide provided, and how much we covered! this was all thanks to the planning that Firat did for us less than 24 hours(!) before. all in all, our stay was very lovely and we would highly recommmend giving vie cappadocia a visit, while ortahisar is still up and coming!"
