Communication before and during our stay with Sue, the host was also excellent, and we were very appreciative of the board games she loaned for us to play with the children! "Cottage has everything you need for a family to stay! Plenty of room, kitchen equipped to cook, highland cows outside front door! We were greeted by much appreciated milk, tea, bread etc! Great after a long drive up! We ebiked and walked in Dunkeld, climbed Lochnagar, explored Braemar, sledged at Glen Shee, explored Glen Clova - and always returned to a cosy, welcoming cottage! "

"Working over Christmas we booked this break to get away from all the madness. Just us and the dog. Thimblewynd was just perfect and we loved it. Peaceful and comfy throughout we chilled out in front of thr log burner or in the hot tub, the tv wasn't on once! We eat at the Kirkstyle Inn which was lovely but made ourselves breakfast and snacks in the well equipped kitchen. There was not a single thing we could fault and we loved every minute. Thanks to Maggie for hosting us. "

"We had a lovely time staying here. The cottage was immaculate, warm and comfortable. The shower was powerful and hot, the sofa comfortable as was the bed. It’s not often we’ve had all those boxes ticked in one property. The garden to the back was large and very pretty but we didn’t sit in it due to the time of year and we were out and about a lot. However, in better weather it would definitely be a bonus.There is lots to see around the area and you’re perfectly situated to do this...

"Had a lovely weekend staying at Birnie Cottage. Aileen was great at giving information prior to our arrival and gave us a lovely welcome with scones, butter and jam. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and we were lucky enough to be able to sit out 2 evenings enjoying the sun and the garden. The cottage is in a peaceful location and had the benefit of woods behind it that we could walk our dogs. Although the garden is enclosed it isn't...

"Right from the initial booking where I had excellent communication from Gillian, the owner, I knew this was going to be a great stay and it did not disappoint. The cottage is on a quiet estate, very easy to get to and the instructions were spot on. The cottage itself was immaculate. Everything you could want is provided (nice little welcome basket and milk in the fridge). Very spacious, very comfortable beds.
