"You could not be more central in Sitia and yet it’s reasonably quiet. The flat is done up to a high standard, all very new and modern. It’s definitely a studio so I’d recommend more for a short stay than an extended stay. The host was very helpful and friendly so am happy to recommend. "

"Our holiday in the Villa met all our high expectations. The Villa has superb accommodation and outside areas and facilities. The Management Company looked after a couple of issues which arose, including loss of hot water, very quickly. Makry Gialos is a fantastic and authentic resort, away from the tourist hot spots. "A lovely place, situated conveniently close to beaches, various restaurants, local shops and a 'mini'market'. Free parking is available uncovered or covered. None of the properties around the 20m x 10m pool look at each other, increasing your privacy. The only downside was the management dealing with problems etc. We advised them that the TV was not working. They said that that they would arrange for an engineer to come out, but nobody came."

"We stayed at Villa Manika at the beginning of July and had a wonderful time. The villa is a short drive to Sitia with shops, a beautiful harbour and lots of cafes and restaurants. We had a hire car but got a taxi a few times in the evening which was 8 Euros each way. The villa was very spacious, clean and well equipped, we also liked that it was laid out on one level. The pool was beautiful, it was a great size and the water temperature was perfect. Upon making our reservation Despina and Pantelis sent us emails with some suggestions on places to visit and restaurant recommendations which was very helpful. One suggestion would be that a welcome pack is provided with some essentials such as milk and bread etc, we had a very long journey so it would of been nice not to have to go to the supermarket immediately upon arrival. The only thing we felt that could be improved upon is an upgrade to the outdoor furniture and unfortunately the large parasol by the pool had a base which was unable to support it when the wind picked up and it kept getting blown over which could be dangerous. We noticed around the harbour area that the restaurants have their parasol bases bolted in the ground which might be a good idea. We very much enjoyed our stay here and it was a great base for exploring the eastern part of Crete. We would definitely stay at Villa Manika again when visiting this beautiful unspoilt part of the island. Thank you Pantelis and Despina for a wonderful stay."
