"I travel to Bristol for work at the uni quite often, and so I’ve tried a few different hotels around Clifton. The Washington is my favourite to stay in — always low noise, always friendly staff, always comfy and clean beds. The building is a little worn down, inside and out, but if you’re looking for a consistently good, lower cost hotel to stay for a few days, this is the place."

"The room was clean and tidy, staff were very polite and helpful. I didn't realise breakfast was included which was an additional bonus and was very nice. Slept really good on a very comfortable bed. The only thing to let it down was the shower pressure not being very strong. I will be staying here again."

"Smashing one night stop for work. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room, ample parking (I was in a 16-passenger seat minibus) and smashing food. Buses from directly outside, only 20 minute drive from central Bath. Highly recommend!"

"My wife and I visited for a show in town, and the hotel was in a great location for accessing the town centre. The decoration was unique and really pleasant, the bathroom was lovely, and the bed was very comfy. We also really enjoyed having keypads to access both the building and room so we didn’t have to worry about keys/cards."

"We stayed here for my husbands birthday weekend Joss welcomed us like family. The room and serivce was amazing We was made to feel so welcome. Joss had a card sent to our room for jons birthday Which was a lovely touch. The area is stunning and so quiet. "Decor is tired and dated. Bed linen, surfaces and crockery was clean but the stair carpets were very worn and room corners and skirting very dusty and grubby. Toilets need a good clean round the bend but seats were clean. Cooked breakfast good but only 2 cereals to choose from, no choice or brown or white toast and no tea available at breakfast.
