"The property was ideal for our needs, close to the city centre and on a pedestrianised area so no through traffic. The owners kept us well informed of all we needed to know including the best places to dine in the area and slightly further afield. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return should the need arise."

"I selected this property for one night because it was within 10 minutes of the Athens airport. It does not have a reception desk but their written instructions were very clear to gain access to the property. I wish I had more time because the property and the pool were lovely. "

"Very beautiful views atop a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean. The road up is a challenge, for sure. Probably unlike anything else you have driven, but very doable with a little patience. The size of the place it a little tight for a family of 4, but you can make it work. The pool and patio are lovely and the hosts are very kind. "

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rafkos mansion. Stelios the owner took us wherever we needed to go and we had delicious meals at one of the local restaurants. It would be wise to have a car because it’s in a village about 30mins. from Heraklion. Stelios is the definition of Greek hospitality! "

"We had a wonderful week in this property. The pictures don't do it justice and it is very well appointed and comfortable. Our host Eirini and her husband were very welcoming and friendly and communication throughout was excellent. "My husband and I have both traveled internationally but neither of us have ever experienced the type of gracious and considerate hotel staff. Each and every one we encountered was amazing. This was really proven when my husband, who has heart problems, had to be taken to the hospital. They arranged a car to take me (while my husband was in the ambulance) and deliver both of us back home upon release. This was our first visit to Crete, for our 30th anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. "

"We had an excellent 6 nights at Lato. The property is very well maintained. Someone is always cleaning! The breakfast is delicious with MANY items from which to choose! Staff is quick and attentive. We ate a few times in the hotel restaurant. Our meals were excellent. The wine list is short but selective and reasonably priced. The wait staff were highly attentive and professional. Their thoughtfulness added to the positives of our meals."
