"great little house to relax in on the island. 15 min walk to the downtown so we can wander around to play, do some museums, eat different food, etc. very quiet and low key so we didn't have to worry about late night noise, allowing us to rest up well. amenities were nice and the room was comfortable. cozy little kitchen let us get ready for the day"

"The guesthouse is surrounded by pure beauty of which we were in awe. The host was so sweet and we felt safe & comfortable during our stay. We were satisfied with our room and felt like it met our needs well. It’s a great place to see the aurora, because there is no light pollution. We would definitely return. Highly recommend! "

"One quick overnight stay. Staff was very accommodating for our early arrival. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to leave early for the ferry departure and weren't able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast."

"This guesthouse was nice and clean. The room was spacious. My boyfriend and I traveled here in the low season (November) and it was difficult to figure out how to access the room. Before arriving, I had a bit of a panic about how we were going to get in (Expedia customer service was not able to tell me). "This was our second stay in a year’s time. If you don’t know what to expect, you may be surprised. It’s an old boarding school, so it has a cool factor. Bad points.the house was very dilapidated, in very bad condition externally which gives a bad first impression .lots of flies around. Room very stark, nothing cosy. Shared bathroom not in good state of repair, pedal bin in bathroom full to the brim with sanitary towels, clearly not emptied in quite a number of days. Very overpriced ."

"The self check in was very easy. Everything was very clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Iceland. Everything was hot and delicious. We loved that they had a self-serve coffee machine with lots of options for different hot drinks. The exterior of the hotel could use a refresh. I would advise not to “judge a book by its cover.” We definitely were not impressed by the front of the hotel but were very pleased with our stay overall. It’s a very convenient location for seeing the waterfalls and doing other glacier activities. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant at their sister hotel, Hotel Skogafoss."

"Beautiful boutique hotel in a stunning location! The service provided by the team was above and beyond. So grateful for the “wake up call” service when the Northern Lights were present as this was a bucket list experience for me. Excellent area to stay for exploring the waterfalls, exploring Vik and going on a glacier excursion. I highly recommend and thank you to Umi for a dreamy stay! "
