Not 'luxury', more 'average, overpriced and potentially dangerous'
We were very disappointed with this apartment, which was described as a ‘luxury apartment’ with airconditioning.
The airconditioning in the main living area does not work, and it appears not to have worked for some time, as the host seemed well aware of it and they were ready to provide fans. As one of our party suffers periodically from heat-exhaustion, this was bitterly disappointing as this was the main reason we booked this apartment – it was a shame that we were not given advanced notice. I note that the listing still includes airconditioning, which is utterly misleading.
The only other aircon was in the master bedroom, which works but is damaged and looks as if the unit is about to fall out of the ceiling
However, the most unacceptable aspect of this apartment was that, in my opinion, it posed a fire-safety risk. The front door (the only way out of the building) can only be opened by the key – there is no push-button door release. There is a notice on the door saying ‘PLEASE LOCK THE DOOR’ – I can only assume that this is to pprotect the bicycles & golf clubs stored by the door. Imagine if there was a fire and only keyholders could escape the building. Especially where young children are involved. Given that our party was 6 people, at check-in we were only given one set of keys. Upon request I did get 2 more sets.
Our hosts were polite and helpful at all time, especially Graciela, although they must take responsibility for the misleading listing.
