"We ended up in El Calafate following a week of hiking across the border in Chilean Patagonia. In the end we decided not to stay an extra day in El Calafate to travel to the Perito Moreno glacier because we had seen a number of glaciers in Chile, so we had just one night at the Mirador del Lago, but it is a very nice hotel. In fact, the hotel was the high point of our visit to El Calafate -- even if the view of the lake is actually across a street and through some trees. A check of other dining options in El Calafate also led us to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant as well, and we were not disappointed. "

The activities and services provided by the hotel, were A .The quality of food vs the price, except for the scrumptious breakfast (a real treat), left much to be desired. The Patagonia Restaurant should offer a better selection and can do a lot better (especially if the regular restaurant is closed for special events). Otherwise, the stay was superb and the landscape unbelievable! Would love to return."
