"Gaia is across the river from Porto; a short ride to downtown but away from the throngs of tourists. The beach and beach restaurants are a five minute walk from the house. Joaquim was a wonderful host and the accommodations felt like a five star hotel. we would definitely stay here again."

After a lot of time-wasting we managed to contact "Ribeiro", who in turn called a neighbor with a key to the property.2. The house and its contents were very old and urgently need modernizing. "The location was great, and facilities were great -- if they were fully functional, but I had some difficulty. Fridge, stove top, microwave, toaster and espresso maker. Nicely laid out bathroom; lots of room and a table to eat at. The espresso machine was very difficult to work. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't and there were no instructions The A/C would not stay set to the temp I set it to.
