"The property is a 15 minute bus ride from the centre of Funchal, in the Santo Antonio area. We really liked this as it felt like being in a very normal suburban area, even if this area did bring the world Ronaldo! If you are looking to incorporate a visit to his childhood club or the small pitch where his house once stood, then you could barely be better situated. There's an excellent mini market just down the street and the bus service makes getting in and out of town cheap and easy. The...

"The house is beautiful. The pool area is an amazing place to take in the views, sunsets and relax. The directions and accompanying literature provided by the host are very informative and answered all of our questions about using the house amenities. Highly recommend taking advantage of the bakery delivery truck that drives past every morning at ~9:15. There is a nespresso machine and drip/filter coffee maker for caffeine needs. If we’re ever back in Madeira, we will hope to stay here again....

"This was a great property located at the halfway point of the island so easy to explore either side. Close to a lovely beach and easy sea bathing with lots of shops too. The roads are steep but then they are anywhere in Madeira. Certainly a good workout if you decide to go walking on the numerous paths."

"We really enjoyed our stay! The house has an amazing view, is big, and very clean - everything was perfect. Marcia was also very nice, and communication was super easy via WhatsApp. She provided us with a lot of information beforehand to give us the exact location and recommend good restaurants in the area. Much appreciated and highly recommended! My advice is to not forget shampoo or anything you need, as there is no shop within walking distance"

"Sehr geräumig an einer sehr steilen Straße. Fußläufig ist Funchal erreichbar aber durch die hohe Lage anstrengend. Bäcker und kleiner Supermarkt ca. 800 m entfernt. Parken an der Straße schwierig, aber möglich. Haus liegt an einer engen, steilen Straße mit regem Verkehr incl. Linienbus. Die Terrasse war, schon längere Zeit nicht mehr gereinigt worden. Zwei Liegestühle, davon einer defekt. Unbequeme Esstischstühle. TV nur pay TV und alles für britische Gäste. Besen und Kehrblech wäre schön. "

"The accommodation in Ville Dilis was very pleasant and you can find everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Beautiful views of the ocean, the pool, the equipment of the house...we were very satisfied. The communication with the landlady Vanda was also great."

"We had an amazing holiday at "Casa de Prazeres". The house is cosy, all the equipment are in good condition, the details of the furnishing are exciting. The garden is a dream... Very peaceful with beautiful plants, breathtaking view and a nice pool. I really enjoyed, that there is no traffic, no human noise, no close neighbours, just You and the pure nature. It was the best place to spend our holiday after the year-round hard work..The hosts are friendly and helpful. I hope we van return once."

"We had a good week. The apartment has everything you need for a self catering stay, sunny patio. comfortable lounge, well equipped kitchen. There is a little convenience store next door and a full range of shops about 1 km up the hill. The nearest resturants seemed to be about 3 km away so not walking distance and the traffic was a little busy but then it is everywhere in Funchal. The owner was very friendly did everything he could to make us welcome even though he did not have much English."

"If you’re looking for a modern feel Villa, with a stunning view of Funchal and the coast, and a very nice pool, you just fund it! We were 4 friends who travelled to Madeira for the first time to film and photograph the island and we couldn’t have found a more perfect place to stay. The drive up there is a little tricky, as the road is very steep and with sharp turns, but very worth it. Would recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"A beautiful house with all the amenities that you would need for your stay and then some. Magnificent views of the sunset from the terrace. The property manager Johnny went out of his way to help us in any need that we had. We only should have paid more attention to the fact that the garage is for small cars. Our rental (Dacia Duster) fit very tight. A great experience that included three hikes with incredible views. "

Martin was very helpful, remotely giving us plenty of tips and advice on things to do, where to eat etc. Rosa was a phone call away locally to make sure our stay went smoothly. There was plenty to do locally especially if you wanted to experience the island's incredible nature. "The quality of this hotel was superb, better than the 5* we stayed in previously. The spa facilities are immaculate (heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket, four seasons shower etc.) – the only thing is it can get quite slippery due to the tiling so recommend wearing slippers/sea shoes. Breakfast was nice. We had the buffet one night and it was also good. Free shuttle service to Funchal seafront included. We plan to return! "

A Gem of a Hotel

"A wonderful surprise this hotel turned out to be. Loved the old world feel of the reception area in the main hotel and the pool & sea view are exceptional. The staff was so knowledgeable and took time to show us about. We had dinner included but were not able to make it so, lunch was provided for us. The breakfast buffet is the best I have seen in Portugal with eggs made to order, warm breads and wonderful fruit salad to mention a few items. Overall, I would come back just to relax by the pool. Downtown Funchal is easily walk able as is the waterfront. The hotel can be very proud of their staff and their genuine concern for the stay of the tourist."
