The Sanctuary at Tissawewa

3.0 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very Good, (78)
"Very quiet when we stayed so lacking atmosphere, particularly in the the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was excellent but reception was less helpful, except the lady who seemed to be the manager. Room was nice but could easily be updated to a much higher standard. Lots of monkeys, and they get up close, we quite enjoyed watching on our veranda but others might be put off by. "

The Lakeside Hotel at Nuwarawewa

3.0 star property
7.2 out of 10, Good, (40)
"This property offered value for money - it was cheap. In its heyday, it must have been a very nice hotel but maintenance has fallen behind over the years. The common areas are fine but the rooms and exterior/grounds are very tired and badly need to be updated. Perhaps the owners can't afford it - there were only 4 guests booked in on the night we stayed."

Cottage Tourist Rest

2.0 star property
7.0 out of 10, Good, (4)
"I got in late and left fairly early, so didn't spend much time there. My room had a bug issue and didn't smell so fresh. Also didn't have hot water in the morning - but that got fixed after I told the person at breakfast. Simple, and has potential, but could use a little freshening up."

Saubagya Inn Tourist Guesthouse

2.5 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (21)
"Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. Shehan also gave me some excellent advice on how best to tackle the large, formidable Ancient...

Rajarata Hotel

3.5 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very Good, (110)
"Overall our experience was good. We had a great server named Gihan. I needed a pen to keep score on a game I was playing. The next day when I showed up he came over with a pen.i thought that was thoughtful. Our drinks and food were served quickly. I had no complaints about the staff. The only complaints is the dining room was moved upstairs as there was a function at the main dining room. The upstairs dining room is right by the rooms and the noise went on well past 11 pm. The dinners left, but...
