"Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. "We loved staying here. The owner was incredibly kind and let us return after our check out time to shower. The wifi unfortunately was not working during our stay but the rooms were clean and ready for us when we stayed. The beds were comfy, and having the option of a ceiling fan or an aircon was helpful to keep cool. The location was a little confusing since it was behind in the alley, however, tucked away made it less busy to access. "

"The property is a newly built house, great design, very ill maintained. Smelly blankets, no bedsheet between the blanket and your body. Uncleaned rags in front of the bathroom. No tea-coffee and hot water kettle in the room, no water bottle in the room. I paid $43 for my stay, seems there are better options nearby at half the price."

"From the outside the dining area looks clean but my room was dirty with spiderwebs. I had mentioned the water tank was empty but nothing was done to replace the jug. The room wasn’t cleaned when i mentioned to owner he said only upon request. I had requested 1hr late checkout due to my ride will arrive at 11am but he said no I had to checkout at 10am because a group was coming in , he then cut off power and wifi at 8a I couldn’t take a shower and the heat was unbearable trying to pack with no AC...

Immaculately clean, helpful to a fault, nothing is too difficult to organize on your behalf and OMG the breakfast is more fit for a king than us minions.
