"This guest house is like a hostel in many ways but with the creative use of one lot not a huge property as I thought it would be. We had booked a tent experience which is a screen tent, holding a bed, night tables, lamp and fan, below a roof and side walls. Our unit had a whole side section about 6ft without a barrier so we could see to the next tent, wooden slats around the tent are not together which lets air flow in but gives little privacy. "This is our second stay at Oaks Townsville and we enjoyed it immensely. On both occasions, the front desk staff have been extremely friendly and welcoming, and on both occasions we have received room upgrades which we really appreciated. Our one-bedroom was beautiful - freshly renovated and decorated and had a lovely big balcony. The infinite pool was so inviting after a day of hot weather, and has a great outlook on the river.
