"Beautiful property with amazing, large rooms. Great patio with chairs and a swing bed. Large bathroom with a great shower, water pressure and hot water! Property was amazing with lots of trails and animals. Only downside was the transportation option offered by the lodge itself was very limited - they should offer more boat transfers from the mainland. And install blackout curtains in the rooms - made it impossible to nap in the afternoons! "

"The staff here is absolutely incredible! Everyone was so helpful and kind. Definitely want to give a shout out to Jessica and Timateo who were amazing! The breakfast was great. Lunches and dinners were delicious. They have a beautiful area to dine in, multiple bars, cool fire pit, lots of little nooks and crannies to chill in, and they are right on the beach, you can order right from the beach and receive your food and drinks without leaving Paradise, which is absolutely phenomenal. "This hotel absolutely blew our minds. The 30 minute drive off road was very beautiful and at first made us a little nervous but quickly realized with 4 wheel drive its very easy and fun! Once we got there... We were blown away. The staff. The rooms. The food. THE PRICE. 10/10. The natural pool area to me might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my entire life and literally put tears in our eyes. The amount of hiking, exploring, and outdoor activities could fill an entire week....

"Stayed here over Christmas for my 40th birthday and have nothing but good things to say about them. The place was clean and beautiful and the food at the Restaurante Cocorri was phenomenal. But the most memorable part was the way they treated me when I got hurt. I tripped walking up the step and dislocated my pinky. Jeremy (I believe is the manager) drove me to the hospital himself, AND gave me cash for a ride back. ¡Excelentes hospitalidades!"

"Overall a great out of the way place right on the ocean, if you like crashing waves and long beaches even better. You need a car to take advantage of the rural location and the nice drive down the coast. The staff were good with some English. The down side to my room which was very clean and spacious for Costa Rica was, they have taken out the fridge, microwave and no coffee pot! The restaurant there does have good food but after breakfast you are paying. "

"Mawamba Lodge is very lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility, walking along the beach, and strolling through the village of Tortuguero. Mawamba has a recycling station where you can pick up a bucket, walk along the beach and pick up garbage left behind by the tide. We like thinking we may have made a little difference for the turtles."
