"It’s quite unfortunate that Palácio das Especiarias was my first stopover in Portugal, because no other hotel after this has been good enough for me. Apart from its own unique charm, this hotel appears to spare no effort in hosting its guests with great generosity and goodwill. The two Carla’s are infectious with their cheerfulness, can-do attitude, humor and kindness and they set this tone throughout the hotel to make it a most pleasant and memorable stay."

"The property is located about 15 minute walk from Rato metro station on flat incline — the sidewalks are cobbled so need to watch your step. A negative to the place is the lack of lighting in the stairwell and entrance lobby to building; the stairs are darker wood and hard to negotiate with the curve without good lighting. The place next door is undergoing renovations so noisy from that aspect but can’t be helped. The breakfast is adequate with same selections daily with a rotation of bread...

"My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Bica FLH Suites in Lisbon. The staff were incredibly lovely and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh options each morning. The location is fantastic, with everything within walking distance, and there’s a funicular right next door. While there are some stairs, it’s all part of the classic Lisbon charm. Highly recommend."

"I really liked this hostel. My room had a small balcony with a nice view. Its close to the old part of the city which makes it easy to explore. Each bed had a curtain which gave some privacy. I only wish they had more charging outlets in the room. "

"This charming boutique hotel is a lovely respite from the buzz of Lisbon where it is ideally located. We've stayed there twice for several days each time. The grounds and pool are beautiful, the rooms are decorated with an elegant contrast of traditional and modern. Bed was very comfortable with soft, crisp linens. Breakfasts are exquisite since they bring pastries in from an amazing bakery. Staff is attentive and super helpful. Love this place!"

"Great location in Lisbon to walk to lots of destinations. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, very short walk. The apartment was simple but all we needed. We really appreciated the storage lockers provided and a WC to use when we collected our luggage. Thank you -this was really great service. "
