"It was our the best stay in Sicily. Quiet, peaceful place; local cuisine for dinner; very pleasant hosts; spacious room and jet tub worked very well. Location is perfect for visiting Modica, Noto and Ragusa. Rural, beautiful area! Will definitely stay there again when visiting Sicily. Thank you!"

"There were pros and cons to the property. Starting the pros, the property itself was very nice. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The family running the property were also very nice and helpful - good people. The Cons: It is in the middle of nowhere! It is very remote and the roads to left of the property were a disaster! "New, immaculately well kept and operated. This was one of nearly a half dozen properties that I stayed at throughout Sicily, and it is beautiful. I was upgraded for a small charge to the Superior Room which has direct access to the back yard and is slightly larger than the standard room. The owners are hard working and look after every need. Loved it!

"Siracusa has been the highlight of our 10 days in Sicily so far and Algilà Ortigia was a great place to visit. Staff was friendly and several went out of their way to be helpful. We are good walkers and could walk to all parts of Ortigia, the island you want to stay on, and be there within 15 minutes. We had a junior suite that was large with several separate areas. Full service breakfast was good, not great. Bed was very big but not the most comfortable Despite these minor things, all four of us loved the hotel and location "

"This was a last minute booking for one night at half 3 in the afternoon. What a fantastic find! There wasn't much around at the end of October and based on reviews and us having a car, we went for this. We wish we had had more time but needed a car to be returned to Syracuse by 11 next day :( I cannot say enough positive things about the place, the staff, the welcome, the price including breakfast and aside to the room, the gorgeous garden space and furniture. It was a calm relaxing area. We didn't use the pool being so late in but had a fabulous meal in the hotel with great service and good quality. The breakfast was as good. This hotel deserves to continue doing well as the staff are the best resource. Grazie per tutti x"

Wonderful location, property fine but a bit faded

"We had - 14 of us, 11 adults three children - a really good week at Borgo Alto. The location is stunning and the space is great. As a former hotel, the accommodation is a bit odd for a big family group - with separate rooms in different buildings, but it worked well. The only thing it lacks is a comfortable lounge area. There is a dining room, but mainly you have to sit in hard chairs. But - even in the last week of October - we were able to spend most of our time outside. The setting of which is like a millionaire’s. The pool was well used, despite not being heated, and the view from it spectacular. It has to be said, though, that although everything was clean, there was a good deal which was faded. Towels s bit thin, bedding ditto. But the location and the weather overrode all of that, easily. "

"Easy to find. Parking is on the street nearby, we didnt have to pay but i would think in busier times the free parking would fill up then you would have to park in pay zone. Nice bright room. Good breakfast included. Close to centre of town but far enough away to be quiet."
