However, in one bedroom, the air conditioning unit was leaking and when it was fixed, the unit outside made a loud noise, so we had to change bedroom to avoid waking others! "We were met by the owner on arrival & briefly showed around, we didn’t arrive until 1am so I’m not sure if he was tired but he was not very welcoming. The only welcome pack was 2 bottles of water, there was wine there but he advised this was €12 a bottle. He also advised that the gas to the cooker was turned off, so on a stove there were two rings for 10 people, which would never be enough. "The host Margarita is charming and friendly as is the village of Kalo Chorio. The villa itself is high up with stunning views and plently of room to sit around in the sun or shade. Be prepared for a little 'off road' experience when navigating the final road up. It's worth it."

"A very modern, perfectly equipped property, amazing swimming pool, wonderful little beach with cristal clear water down the stairs of the property, garden and pool area in the same perfect condition as the apartment. Perfect location also for trips and hikes in the area. Our only regret was that we had to leave after 5 nights. Highly recommendable!"

"A lovely place, situated conveniently close to beaches, various restaurants, local shops and a 'mini'market'. Free parking is available uncovered or covered. None of the properties around the 20m x 10m pool look at each other, increasing your privacy. The only downside was the management dealing with problems etc. We advised them that the TV was not working. They said that that they would arrange for an engineer to come out, but nobody came."

"Just back from a wonderful 10 days at Elounda Eleon Villas. Maria and Ilias are great hosts and Zetta a fantastic housekeeper who kept our villa spotlessly clean. Loved the location of our villa which had spectacular views to the sea. The pool was a welcome relief to the hot sun. The owners are lovely and make sure you have everything you need. The Management Company looked after a couple of issues which arose, including loss of hot water, very quickly. Makry Gialos is a fantastic and authentic resort, away from the tourist hot spots.
