Wonderful cabin in a great location. More than we expected. We were charged twice for a coffee pot we unfortunately dropped and broke. Expected to pay for it, but not twice. I contacted VRBO, but the double charge has not been corrected.
We were looking for respite from the rigors of everyday life, work, and responsibilities. This was the perfect spot for that. The home is lovely and peaceful. It's a short walk to Shroon lake. Our landlords were attentive and friendly. We could not have wished for a better stay.
The location was perfect for us. Very close to numerous hiking trails in the Pharoah Lake Wilderness in a very quiet little village. Wonderful fire ring There was a small General Store
We are two retired teachers who love traveling to the Adirondacks in the fall. This year we chose Schroon Lake and loved it! The area was beautiful and our drives and hikes were amazing! We enjoyed our stay at your house. It was clean, warm, and cozy. Thanks for having us! We will definitely return.
The radiant heated floors were amazing! Short walk to the water. The General Store is right next door and the people are so friendly and welcoming. Great experience!
The house was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable. the setting was peaceful and serene. We enjoyed the screened-in back porch and fire pit immensely. Thank you Robert
Great property in great shape -- just the right size for two couples. Week was very hot, but fans kept the indoors reasonable. Great kitchen for cooking, with ample choices for dining within a short drive. Swam, hiked, and played tourist. All-in-all, a great experience! Oh, and a nice firepit in back.
We had a fantastic stay in the hamlet of Adirondack! The house is beautiful, and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well supplied, the furniture and beds are very comfortable. I love this home and would definitely stay again. We drove in a different direction every day to visit and hike near Lake Placid, Ticonderoga, and Lake George. The town of Schroon Lake is also very nice. The hiking trails in Pharoah Peaks Wilderness near Adirondack are easily accessed, well maintained and beautiful. We enjoyed shopping and dining at the General Store right next door. We also had a several nice fires in the backyard and enjoyed relaxing on the front porch after a day of hiking. Everything about our vacation was perfect!
This is a lovely property: well maintained and many thoughtful touches throughout (puzzles, games, and my daughter was delighted to find books 2 and 3 from the Eragon series in the desk drawers.) It’s an easy 30 minute drive to Gore Mountain, and there’s a general store next door open on weekends in the winter with great food.
The property owners are responsive and good hosts. It snowed 6” the first night we arrived and they arrived first thing in the morning to plow the driveway. They also shared rec’s for local hiking trails and dropped off sleds for the kids to use.
We really enjoyed our time at this property!
My family and I love staying here! My husband, my kids and I booked this house during our skiing trip to Gore Mountain. The house is very spacious. Heat was amazing and it kept us very warm and comfortable during the trip. Kitchen is big and spacious. Bathrooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. The house is a few mins walk to the lake which was a nice fun activity for my kids. There are sleds for my boys to use and have fun with outside. There’s a general store next door but it was closed during our stay. The house is 25-30 mins away from Gore Mountain which we didn’t mind. Neighborhood was quiet which we liked. And the owner was very communicative and was quick to reply our questions. Overall we had an amazing stay!
A very nice stay for our first visit to the area. The owners were quick to respond when we realized we needed more linens and other supplies. And we appreciated them taking time to talk to us about specific hikes. There was literature available in the house, but it required considerable time to look through it all. (We typically travel to national parks and rely on visitor centers!) They recommended Moxham Mtn and Cascade Mtn trails. (About an hour drive to the Lake Placid area.) Fabulous hikes if you like going up the side of a mountain and getting a spectacular view! We bypassed the Natural Stone Bridge as we thought it was pricey when there were so many free hikes! The general store is your next-door neighbor (in June the hours were reasonable) and breakfast there was yummy. It is at least a 15-20 minute drive to other restaurants or grocery stores (we visited the Tops in Schroon Lake) so plan accordingly. We were a little disappointed in the proximity to Schroon Lake. It is not easily viewed from the property, is a walk of several blocks and didn't seem inviting to sit and relax (bugs, jet skis/boats, off limit areas). However, the house itself is very accommodating (we often cooked) and we used the fire pit several nights to roast marshmallows. Thank you for sharing your property.
Nice quiet location. Easy walk to lake and general store (when open! check out limited hours). We brought our small boat and easily launched at Schroon and Brant Lakes. Host was easy to reach and house was just lovely.
This was a fabulous place to stay. It was e trembly clean. Looked brand new. The craftsmanship was on point. I couldn’t find a bad thing to say about the house. Robert was a great. Quick answering me back with any question I had. If your looking for a great place to stay in this area, this is the place to rent!
The house was in a beautiful location and was clean and cozy. It was actually even nicer in person than what we saw online. I would highly recommend staying here any time of year. It was a very pretty 30 minute drive to Gore.
The photos don't capture the vastness of the interior and how nice the overall decor is. It is very well located also. We drove all over and every day found new ventures and really enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the trees rustling in the breeze. It is a very peaceful location and having the general store close was an added perk. Robert was great to work with especially when we checked out and locked our GPS inside. He promptly responded to a message and we got in to retrieve it and were on our way home in short order. Would definitely stay here again!
Robert’s house was exactly what we were looking for. The house was clean and had a great layout. He even provided a TV that wasn’t originally in the listing (it was the start of football season so this was much appreciated). Thank you, Robert!
