"My wife and I booked a one night stay at the end of a cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We arrived at the hotel at 10 AM and were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was available for us. The hotel clerk was most helpful, providing us with passes for the local bus and tram system and directions on how to get to the meeting point for our walking tour. When I asked about how to get a cab to the airport, she offered to book one for us but pointed out that the bus trip was free and simple (it was!) and the bus stop was 100 yards from our hotel door. The room was clean, spacious and very nicely appointed. The hotel has an in-house bar but no restaurant, and in-house food options are limited. This was a total non-issue, as it is located a short, pleasant walk from many shops and restaurants and we were able to get a good feel of the city in the one day we were there. It may have been a little bit pricier than some other hotel options but given its proximity to some picturesque areas and the convenience of transport to BSL airport, it more than makes up for any price savings. Worth a look if you're planning a stay in Basel."

"The hotel staff was excellent. We checked into our room and the AC did t work. We called the front desk and a staff member came immediately to check. She agreed the air was not working and immediately moved us to another room with no hassle. Good service. Hotel room came with free train ticket to get to area popular with bars and restaurants. My only complaint was that Expedia said there was free parking for silver members but we had to pay $40 for parking. It didn’t spoil the hotel experience though. The staff made up for it. But I’ll be calling Expedia when I get home. "
