"My room did have a balcony, but the doors had to be kept closed to keep the heat out and also because of mosquitos. The hotel has a beautifully tiled foyer - it must have been renovated since the image in the listing was taken. The public spaces were nice, but my room was a bit 'institutional' with very few 'comforts' and terrible lighting. "

But for a 5-star they seemed lacking in some areas where they missed keeping the snacks and beverages in the room as well lack of some important stuff required for a hotel stay. "The waterfront view was exceptional from the balcony. The staff were helpful and eager to please all round. However, the room house keeping was less than optimal. On one day the room cleaning was missed entirely even when the “Please clean the room” sign was on display all day outside the room. That said, we still plan to return to Niraamaya Resort Kumarakom in the future."

"Our favorite place to stay by far. This was our fourth stay here. We like the fact that it only has a small number of rooms and has a boutique hotel feel to it. Its location is great. It is a short walk to ferries that one can take to Ernakulam thereby cutting down on travel time. The restaurants are excellent and there is no need to leave the property to find other dining options if one is not inclined to leave the place. The Armory restaurant with its outdoor seating area is our favorite...
