"I have been to Summer Lodge in the past but only to the dog-friendly whiskey bar for pre-prandials before the main course at the dog-friendly Acorn Inn (luscious dinner) over the road (which is part of the same hotel group). This visit was with my fairy godmother, as a treat / R&R after a particularly hard time for both of us. It was absolutely just what the doctor ordered. "Staff were a delight the entire stay. Room (1) was beautiful and clean, with windows on 3 sides (excellent for a breeze), lovely roll top bed, comfy mattress and very nice modern bathroom. Bathrobes were a nice touch. Ate at the hotel Saturday night and it was superb. Scotch egg was delicious, pork fabulous and the pizza was gorgeous. Excellent wine selection and utterly superb soft drink (bottles in the fridge) range. Breakfast was really good. Yoghurt, fruits and cereal, then cooked...

"A group of us stayed for a weekend around a wedding. Excellent communication from booking onwards. A couple of tiny niggles were sorted straight away Everything was clean and we all had enough room (not your typical holiday let without enough room to open a suitcase)"
