"We had an unforgettable stay at The Residence and can’t wait to return—especially our three kids, who are already asking when we’ll be back! The hotel’s beautiful gardens were a highlight; we enjoyed walking through them every day instead of using golf carts. The staff were always friendly and eager to help, making us feel right at home. The two restaurants offered excellent food with daily themed menus and live performances, ensuring a fresh and enjoyable dining experience. The complimentary watersport activities were fantastic, with the boat house crew leading fun and informative sessions. Our beach-facing luxury villa was spacious, well-decorated, and offered great privacy, especially with its private pool although the kids also enjoyed swimming and playing with other kids in the main overflow pool. The monkeys occasionally made an appearance around the villa but kept their distance, adding a fun touch. The beach, while a bit seaweedy at low tide, was perfect after 1 pm. The tour guides were professional and made exploring the area a breeze. Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to returning soon!"

"Zawadi is the true definition of private luxury! Everything was pristine: staff, property, drinks/food, views, villa, bed comfort, bath products, water pressure, hospitality, etc. The service & staff was incredible- Iddy, Mr M, Innocent, Bernard & Ally were amazing and truly caterered to my husband and I. Mary & Tatu did a superb job maintaining our villa. Noa, Isaak & Evelyn were lovely hosts, always checking on us and ensuring a pleasant experience. Live music is brought in for dinner 3x a week. Snorkeling, clear kayak & paddle boarding are available & included on site. You can also visit the small farm & garden onsite to see where most of your meals/food is grown. Everything is incredibly fresh! Extra activities are available such as a sunset cruise, however it is quite pricey ($450usd) so we chose a local tour operator on a traditional dhow boat that was a lovely experience for just $60usd. It seemed a bit frowned upon by the hotel staff to book w/outside/local tour operators (multiple comments were made). If you’re well-traveled & cautious like we are & want to support the locals, you’ll be fine. Don’t let the staff scare you away from an authentic experience. :) In conclusion, this is a property my husband and I would absolutely return & visit yearly, and as a travel advisor- it is most definitely one I’ll recommend to my luxury vip clients. "My stay at Kwanza was amazing, stayed here for my honeymoon and my wife really loved the resort. We stayed in one of the swim up rooms which was a nice added feature. The only thing I could fault this hotel is the drainage system in the shower and sink is a bit slow to go down the drain other than that everything is 5 star. I would definitely stay here again and the staff were all amazing and accommodating. "

"A truly wonderful hotel that stands out for its friendly family feel customer service and its variety and standard of food that has so many choices for vegetarians during the 4 course meal every night. The rooms are tastefully decorated with good aircon and mosquito nets for the bed. The pool and sunbeds are well spaced and quiet and there are paddle boards to use in the sea. The treatments at the spa are varied and delivered brilliantly for a very reasonable price! I highly recommend this adults only hotel if you’re looking for peace and tranquility with an outstanding focus on you as the guest"

"What an experience. One of the more quieter and nicer all inclusive resorts on Zanzabar. 1/2 board though, but breakfast and dinner were ample buffets. Lots of local dishes and for such a remote place, much of the food is locally sourced. Fruit at breakfast and desserts made with local ingredients are standouts. Different themed buffets at dinner nightly. Lunch was always snacks at the beach which included a top notch chicken tikka tandoori and nan. Would highly recommend as staff was always eager to please. "
