The town of Trevi was a very close drive and a much nicer town than the super touristy ones nearby like Spello. I guess my big disappointment was that the hotel was almost empty. "There are awards from 20 years ago hanging around, I guess this is when the hotel got its four stars. Since then the building got pretty shabby, especially the bathrooms. The breakfast is the only thing that matches the stars claim, I’d say. We received no “parking instructions” message like other Italian hotels send couple of days in advance, and it’s badly needed! "This is a beautiful property. The buildings and surrounding countryside. The outdoor amenities are terrific with a large pool and a jetted smaller pool (cold water). The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was small and utilitarian and the bed was too hard for our liking. We are dinner and breakfast there and both meals were good (especially the cooked breakfast). The only downside of the property is that it is aging and in need of updating and maintenance.
