"Everything was acceptable - but no air-conditioning! The weather got warm and we needed to sleep with the windows cracked open and a small table fan provided by the hotel. Try to get a corner room - we didn't and our room and bathroom were miniscule. Very clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. Abundant and varied breakfast included. Convenient central location."

"We had a good stay at the Vulkan although the room was looking a little “tired” round the edges. For a hotel that would be used by a lot of tourists, they had a strangely early breakfast time during the week - finishing at 0930! Location is excellent however with easy walking distance to Grunerlokka for great bars/restaurants and even into Oslo city centre along the Akerselva river."

"I had an enjoyable stay here. Desk staff was very nice and the room was small but clean. The entire hotel seems a bit dated but my room had a somewhat recently updated bathroom which was nice. I would, however, not suggest staying there Thursday-Sunday as there is a club across the street that plays INSANELY loud music until 3am. I’m usually a deep sleeper but the music kept me up most nights."
