The hotel itself was incredible wherever you went, with fantastically friendly and attentive staff everywhere you looked! The Eaterie restaurant, the bar, lounge and even The Vaults for a brilliant Sunday Lunch were terrific as well. To top it all off, the room was absolutely perfect as well! "The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly. "Was a nice room. But wow was it roasting hot. We could find anywhere of turning the heating down or off so had a very hot night, even with fans on. The toilet however had no heating so was the opposite and freezing. Nice to have our own little room but think it was too pricey, compared to the many other hotels we stay in for major race events. Breakfast was toast, yogurts or 3 choices of cereal, nothing for vegetarians and not really a continental as offered. "

"Brilliant location for visiting all the main attractions in Bury St Edmunds. Was warmly welcomed by our host and they were flexible about check in times and us leaving the car in their car park before check in. Had a lovely quiet room which was warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Would definitely stay here on future visits to the area."

"Just perfect, We were not sure when we booked as it was just a place to stay while we visited friends, but if we are in the area we will go back the accommodation was spotlessly clean. "I went to Diss to see friends & colleagues. On arrival no one was there to meet me as I had arrived early. There was no way of contacting the proprietor. They were on holiday, their adult daughter & son in law were taking care of bookings/stays. I had to wait for them to come home from work. The son in law was the first to arrive and was friendly & apologetic. The daughter arrived and she was equally lovely. The room was so nice and comfortable. I had a fantastic sleep & enjoyed my stay. "

"Our second time here and you can not fault this place . The rooms, the staff, the location are just perfect and the dogs are made to feel like VIP’s. The hot tub is lovely and the restaurant has such a nice ambiance about it ( and yes dogs are welcome in there too!)"
