"After the pubs and country homes this was a more ‘usual’ hotel experience. Great experience all round although our headboard had seen better days. Superb food. "

"It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The lodge was very clean, spacious and well equipped. Walking along the lake is beautiful. There's lots of nice activities too so especially for children. We took a speed boat in the lake which was exciting. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, the minigolf, playing ping pong and the arcade. The food in the restaurant was delicious too. We'll definitely be going again :)"

"Lovely hotel. We had a room upgrade as it was a birthday which was great. Customer service when we arrived on reception was not great. There was no enthusiasm to see us or smiles from the man. I think he was new as unsure in himself. But even so he could be more welcoming "

My only adverse comment would be the relative positions of the accomodation block(s) and the pub/restaurant, umbrellas are provided for the journey, should it be raining, even during good weather, there are steps to negotiate and you leave a warm building experience outdoor temperatures then enter...

"Our two bedroom apartment was amazing with views of the duck pond. Now we know this resort is here we will come back often. Very spacious rooms and the indoor pool and steam room were really nice. Don't worry about the ghosts!"

"The Fence Gate Lodge was great for an overnight stay. We stayed in the junior suite which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The bathroom facilities, rain shower, roll top bath, were nice features. The breakfast was pleasant, we only ate continental but the cooked breakfast that other people were having looked nice. "The staff here are incredible, so friendly and helpful. We stayed for a nearby wedding and they gave us an iron and iron board and taxi recommendations. The food also tasted amazing and was great quality, the menu isn't large but they do regularly change their specials. The room itself was nice, it was quite small but to be expected for such an old property, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom modern. Our only issue was the cleanliness.
