"We travelled in the off season (early March) and really enjoyed our stay. Our room had a garden view and it was perfect. We strolled through every pathway in the property and for a flower/garden/rose lover it would be absolutely amazing in the summer when everything is in bloom. Our check-in greeting and encounters with staff were always polite and cheerful and breakfast was perfect every morning. We would happily stay here again."

"This hotel is situated in a very nice location facing the lava pools.The beds were comfortable, the balcony was spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean and the buffet breakfast was good. It is within walking distance to all sights in Porto Moniz . There is lots of parking available. Staff were friendly and efficient. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome and departure gifts."

"The complex had everything we needed. Spacious and clean apartment with an amazing view over Funchal and the sea, with a nice size balcony and outdoors seating. The downside was the road in-between the accommodation and the facilities. It was quiet late at night although the traffic in the morning with all the tourist vehicles coming up the hill was rather noisy. We live in a village, so noticed it. "I love the location by a beautiful park, in a walkable area. Good price for older charming hotel. to be clear I dont like many modern hotels with soulless modern decor. The lobby is staffed, chocolate shop out front attached. Lift to all floors from parking garage. Setup for an extended stay but lovely for the 1 night we stayed."
